well i bougth one pair of these monster boots! and most say i was surprized about how ligth they were! which let me to think about "cold-feet" but they are sligthy insulated so with a thick pair of wollen socks it goes anyway!
there is pros and cons with them as there are with all things.
here are the following i have felt.
cons - 1. you cannot walk in in them!
2. they have no rear part of the steigisen.
3. you will have to carry them in and out.
pros - 1. they are ligth.
2. climbing feels like climbing rock.
3. they stick like flies on a shit to the ice even without kickinghard.
4. because they are ligth you can almost stand anywhere you choose/want even in bad ice(if you trust it)
5. moving around is simplyfied because of the low boot "cuff" so you are not "stiff" in the low part of your body any more and so more precise.
