"Involved with 5th Chichester Scout Group from Cub Scouts through to Chairman of the Venture Scout Unit. Started camping and hiking with scouts early on and progressed to backpacking including events such as the Downsman. Went from walking/hiking to hill walking, then mountain walking in winter and rock climbing. Started rock climbing when 14 and had first trip to the Alps - Climbed Mont Blanc when 16. Started rock climbing with Dave when 15 and had first winter/ice climbing trip to Scotland when 16. Thereafter summers in the Alps and winters in Scotland. Met Lynne in 1990. Introduced her to climbing (bad move as she soon became better than me!).

Married in 1991 in Northumberland even spent the day climbing before the wedding! First trip to Canada in 92 and an introduction to ice-fall climbing. Loved it. Been ice fall climbing every year since. Other hobbies include cooking, including catering for 25 climbers on the ice fests.

Holidays now are often spent bouldering in Font with Lynne & our two sons George & Tom or spent climbing and canoeing in one of Frances spectacular gorges."

Still loving the very successful and ever popular Peglers Ice Fests just as much now as 16 years ago!! And also climbing in North Wales the Peak and Swanage as much as possible. Seven years ago I got back into UK mountain walking ( where it all began! ) on a trip to Skye with my Munro bagging uncle John. We have since climbed 55 Munros together totaling nearly 500 km of walking and 40 000 metres of ascent !!! and I thought Alpinism and ice climbing was hardcore !!!!!

Three years ago I got into road cycling and how great it is to have a hobby that you can do from your own home. I really enjoy Sportives and try and do at least five or six each year.
