Product Description

Ice Fest 2013

The first ice fest was 16 years ago, aiming at bringing climbers together to share experiences and most importantly to climb waterfall ice.

As usual Peglers will be your host for the duration of the trip, providing a comfortable base, hearty meals, wine & beer and a place to share your tales of the days adventures.

This is not a guided trip and instruction will not be given, therefore a partner and winter climbing experience is required - if you don’t have a partner then give us a call and we may be able to hook you up with another single climber!

The important details:

France 1: 5th -13th January 2013 - £440

France 2: 26th  January -2nd Feb 2013 - £440

France 1: Situated in the Ecrins, based for the 16th year around the Bourg d’Oisons area. The venue suits both experienced and novice cllimbers. With roadside routes, ice cragging at Alpe d’Huez, the reliable La Grave Ice Falls and the spectacular Vallon du Diable, there is something for everyone.

France 2: Based in Vallouise near Briancon (as 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012). Centrally located to climb in mega venues such as Freissinieres and Fournel. Roadside and remote there are a huge number of routes, single pitch to 700m. All grades of mixed and ice climbing will impress those new to the area which probably has the most dependable ice in the whole of the alps.

What we provide: Comfortable full board accommodation, home cooked meals, all the beer and wine you want, exclusive ice fest t-shirt

What we don’t provide: Transport, insurance, instruction.

  1. Book your place now!!!!

Posted by Paul on 14th Feb 2012

A mix of great company, an amazing and ever changing venue, more Cascade ice than you can swing an axe at, and enough adventure to break you in gently or "pump you out of your box" as Jerry Gore would say... this is a no brainer if you are simply curious or a seasoned pro tired of driving to Scotland to be met by horizontal rain and yesterdays ice route running under your feet! Dave is a wonderful host, and the place has so much to offer that you are virtually guaranteed a week you will never forget, with access to local knowledge and decades of collective experience and expertise, there is an adventure waiting for you.
