| The SRC, an innovative idea from Wild Country, has been combined this year with another piece of excellent design, a dedicated belay karabiner with an anti-flip protecting gate shroud. This can only be engaged after the locking mechanism is fully screwed up. Once in place the karabiner is prevented from rotating on the belay loop and encourages the karabiner and belay device to remain correctly orientated. The SRC stops a fall or controls a lower by forcing the belay karabiner up an accelerating ramp, trapping the rope between karabiner and end post.
