Petzl Spatha

At last a knife designed for the climber. A large hole accepts a karabiner (not as many types as you'd at first think - I use a WC Titan Screw) so it can be tucked around the back of your harness on a gear loop for when you need it. The blade is part serated and part smooth and makes short work of cutting tape and cord (or rope!). The ingenious method of opening means you can do so with thick gloves or mitts on, and you can open it with only one hand. It's light, it's cheap and it works. Now if only you could open a bottle of beer and pull a cork with it you'd have a real alpinists knife! Weight: 1.76 oz, 50 g, Closed Length: 98 mm.
