Europe - Sport Vertical
A guidebook to the best rock climbing sites in Europe by David Atchison-Jones The only definitive and comprehensive guidebook to the climbing available in Europe, all superbly packaged into a single volume, and one which easily fits into the top of the rucksack. This guidebook has over 350 breathtaking colour photographs of climbing in Europe, and guides you to the locations of some 2600 different cliffs. If you want to plan a climbing holiday, at any time of the year, at any place in Europe, then this is the guidebook with all the key information. It is an easy to use guidebook, completely enticing, thrilling to flick through. Designed by climbers who know Europe, and know where the best places are to climb. No matter what style of climbing you are interested in; Sports routes, bouldering, Alpine routes, adventure climbing, naturally protected routes, even traditional Czech 'knotted sling' style, this guidebook will lead you to the best cliffs. What grade do you climb at? It doesn't matter! This guidebook shows how many routes there are at all of the 2600 crags, and the range of grades available, and how suitable the cliff is for each standard of climber. Too hot in the summer? This guidebook shows the orientation of every cliff, and if they are shaded by trees in the summer. Also indicate the crags altitude - sea level up to 2000 m. I hate long walk in's! Walk in time for every crag, rough angle of walk in, and indication of the level of difficulty you will have in locating the crag. I love limestone! Shows the rock type at every cliff, from Granite to Sandstone, and even categorise different limestone at many of the most important cliffs. Nice climbing but what a dump! Star ratings to all the cliffs in Europe, which show the holiday potential, climbing worthyness, and the ambient setting. Too scary for me! Illustrates on which cliffs the protection possibility is poor, or where you are likely to take a monster fall, if it is slabby or overhanging; all the climbing 'beta'. I don't want to get there to find there is a bird restriction! Yes, all the current bird restrictions and access restrictions. I hate crowds! The really quiet spots, but be warned; they have long walk-ins. Any good campsites? Yes, all the climbing campsites on our maps. LOCAL CLIMBING GUIDEBOOKS We also show all the up to date local guidebooks on offer, and which cliffs are included. We show where to buy the guidebooks, and days of the week that the shops are closed. We give an indication to the quality of the guidebooks in various categories such as: Local information, crag location, route(topo) info, photos, and ease of use if you don't speak the local language. So if you want to enjoy the soaring towers of Riglos in Spain; the chasms of the Verdon Gorge in France; awesome shields of Gneiss in the Italian Alps; hidden limestone horrors of Germany; or the invigorating sea cliffs of Britain; snap up a copy of Europe Sport Vertical
